GM Nightmare Church RC12 - Horror Map (Oct 2014)

Look around and explorer the Horror in this detailed map! Oh and yes there's jump scares. (no story or puzzles)

There's a few things in the map that will try to scare you. >:) Keep an eye out for secrets/hidden things as I added lots. Let me know what you think in the comments and don't forget to rate the map. :)

You need to extract the compressed file with "winrar" or "7-Zip" software to decompress/get the map.bsp

Place the map in the maps folder

E.G. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Your-Steam-Name-Here\garrysmod\garrysmod\maps

1) - Temporarily renaming your "models" or "material" folders as they might be conflicting with the map in some way. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Your-Steam-Name-Here\garrysmod\garrysmod

2) - If above don't work Validate Garrys Mod from your steam game list. (Verify Steam Game Cache) ? http://pastebin.com/mTiutdSK

3) - In your Garry's Mod folder rename the folder called "cfg" to "cfg_old" and "Turn Off Cloud Save" for Garry's Mod. ? http://pastebin.com/qynpRGmw

4) - Still not working? DirectX launch options. (Try -dxlevel 95) if that didn't work change setting back to "-dxlevel 98" ? http://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1040-JWMT-2947

5) - Update graphics card drivers.

6) - Try on another computer or run the map in "Half Life 2: Deathmatch" Or "HL2:EP2"

7) - Last option Reinstall Gmod.

    • New Particle Effect for a teleport
    • Doll text on pick up.
    • Trap text decal
    • 2 New models (static)
    • Trigger push left after grave jump scare.
    • Jump scare working with crowbar.
    • Teleport sends player facing toilet area.
    • Trigger push player in fish area.
    • Black wall in clock tower in front of teleport spawn.
    • Added a new sound in clock tower.
    • Killed some text features when credits start running.
    • Fixed a tree bug.
    • Fixed a light outside of the restrooms area.
    • Clipped the lower walls and other areas, no need to jump crouch anymore.
    • Changed 2 light models in sewer to prop_static
    • Made mushrooms Not Solid and player can step over.
    • Improved some lighting.

    • Toilet door stays open for longer.
    • Added large red arrow sprite on top of the sign. (So you can see the sign more easily)
    • Red light for the girl body turns off when you place the doll there.

    • Fixed flickering texture in sewer water.
    • Light map scale for blue carpet is lower for better shadows.

    • All jump scares found! (New Map Ending Feature!)
    • After toilet door opened and closed the zombie is sick.
    • Fixed light green bug on wall near well.
    • Removed the crowbar then Force Spawned it after sometime near freeman.
    • The green ladder is more clear (Temp disabled particles on first telport)
    • Updated the laptop screen texture about ttt and mu versions and more high res.
    • Added pick up sprite text above ggun sprites.
    • Removed ggun sprite from trolley.
    • Added music\Ravenholm_1.mp3 when you have unlocked all jump scares!
    • Added glowing sprite on smile face in maze.
    • Baby, gnome and trolley models can't fall out of the map.
    • The sewer lighting is more darker and sewer graphics are improved.
    • Added Alyx gun in the toilet room.
    • Debris - don't collide with the player to pick up models.
    • Lighting improved in some areas.
    • Improved the Portal in sewer area (less black wall visible to player)
    • Updated the maze brush work (same as the TTT Version)

    • No doll secrets.
    • No purpose to that to.

    • New map name: gm-nightmare-church-rc3
    • Fixed Crash bug if Models were set to "Low" in Video options for old PCs.
    • Soundscapes now work with Steam Workshop! (Files packed in "maps" folder instead of the default "scripts" folder)
    • Optimized some models for better performance.
    • Doors now don't force close if the player is in the way.
    • Added another arrow decal pointing to ivy ladder.
    • Shower glass updated.
