Mapping problem

A question of gmod mapping

By Rm!X 3 years ago

Hello. I'm beginner mapper, and I have before made maps to Counter-Strike Source. Now I have installed Garry's Mod 10 to my computer and I would like to start make maps for it. But I'm bit newbie with Hammer and mapping also. The problem is that I couldn't find option "Garry's Mod" in graphics engine selection. Should I somehow "add" that option? Garry's mod uses orange box engine , right? What option should I choose to make working map for GMOD 10 ?

Big thanks those who would help me with this, sorry about my poor english grammar and my newbieness.

Just do the same as CS:S. When you compile the map, navigate to your CS:S maps folder, and copy the map into your GMod map folder.

you will also find that if your decompiling maps, a good example here is downtown..your gonan see a hell load of white walls. to fix this will take a fair while. The best idea, for me anyway, was to make a new mod (you dont actually use said mod) then use the materials folder in that. i can send you a compiled file containing all the materials yourll need (plus some extras). the reason for this is that i found that if you put the materials you need in the css materials folder or gmod materials..it takes forever to load.
